I wonder if anyone out there knows how many Jensen buses & coaches were built in total. I know they started building a coach chassis in 1948 for how long and how many I do not. I know at least one was bodied by ACB at Sunderland as either a bus or coach I don’t know. Any info will be most useful thanks.

Very little known about their very short period of PSV involvement. In 1949 they introduced a lightweight 40 seater with Perkins P6 engine, David Brown gearbox and Sparshatts bodywork. They then brought out an unsuccessful 38 coach version – possibly the ACB? but no-one was interested. They had another go in 1958 with the Tempo 13 seater – built under licence from Tempo in Germany. Unlike the original, the Jensen had a 1.5 litre BMC petrol engine and a 4 speed ZF gearbox. It was slightly more successful than the full-size vehicle – but not a lot!

There were two Sparshatt bodied Jensen buses which both ended up with Hutchings & Cornelius of South Petherton, Somerset (MYA 391 & MYA 816). The A.C.B. bodied coach became BBR 658, whilst a Reading bodied coach was GDL 264. There was also a Strachan bodied coach, which operated for a London-based company and for which I cannot recall the registration. The Tempo was never sold in great numbers and the only one that I can recall is VEA 222, which operated for Farrell of St Helens at some point in time.
